I’ve recently acquired approximately 200 hundred vintage (mostly) Australian magazines.
The plan is to start archiving the best bits (read, the pictures), and then quite possibly moving them on to new, loving hands so as not to create a problem for my children… wait… never mind.
Pictures below are from an overview of Australian Gift Shops in the December 1968 edition of Australian Home Journal.
The cover features Sholto Hayes, the son of interior designer, Babette Hayes; a name familiar to anyone who recalls tv ads for the Womens Weekly.
For more memory lane strolling there’s a book review of Fattypuffs and Thinifers by Andre Maurois as well as Decorative Art in Modern Interiors (now I want one!)
